Kev taught my daughter to play the drums when she was very young. She was shy and not at all confident with people she didn’t know but Kev has a lovely way with people and she took to him straight away and was relaxed enough with him to really enjoy and learn from the lessons. He is patient and relaxed, and can adapt his teaching style to suit his different student needs making the sessions fun and informative.

My 9 year old son Owen has been playing drums since he got a drum set for his birthday 8 months ago. He wasn’t making any progress using online tutorials or the written drum guides we had bought him.
When I found Kevin I was at first sceptical about how much progress that could be made with just a few lessons bought as a Christmas present. Oh boy was I wrong! The progress made in a couple of months is nothing short of remarkable.
Kevin has a very positive and inclusive teaching strategy which has filled Owen with the confidence to learn and not worry about making mistakes. As he teaches drumming techniques Kevin is also very adept at teaching Owen to read music too! Every week Owen is given musical notes that allow him to practice what Kevin has taught him during the lesson.
It is now a real joy now to be able to listen to Owen playing along with his favourite tunes where previously I would be reaching for the ear plugs. Kevin is a brilliant teacher and I couldn’t recommend him more!

I really enjoy the 1:1 lessons, they are relaxed and informal whilst still getting everything done and being really fun. Kev is very professional and will analyse your performance whilst you’re playing and then give you a review of your playing. He has lots of experience, really enjoys teaching and is very good at making sure I do everything right. He also has excellent ways of breaking beats down into their raw forms and then slowly building them up.
I would recommend Kev if you want to improve 100% – 150% and want a teacher who isn’t too formal and has lots of experience.
